A Book for A Book.....

I haven't given anything away on the blog for awhile--life has been so busy I've just lost track of time.  But I think, in honor of November, I should give away a book.

So, tell me the BEST book you read this year and that I should absolutely read and I'll enter you in the contest.  Don't forget to check back to see if you won.  I have a couple prizes from past contests that I haven't been able to find the winner--most notably the winner of my title contest.  MizzCrow--you won but I haven't been able to reach you!

Anyway, give me ONE TITLE of THE BEST BOOK you read this year.  Just one, just your favorite.  (I know, it's going to be hard to choose, right?)  Winner gets readers choice of  Haunting Beauty or Haunting Warrior (which, by the way, are being repackaged as A Mists of Ireland Novel.  Cool huh?

Hi Erin!
Well... I am having a hard time with this one. If you were to ask what is the best book you have read in the past couple years, it would be easy - "The Help"!!! If you haven't read this, you have to! But the question was best book this year (I read The Help in 2009)I didn't give too many books 5 stars in 2010.

I guess I would have to say "First They Killed My Father" it is a very intense and depressing book about the civil war in Cambodia in the 60's, BUT it is definitely the best! I have the second book and plan on reading it soon.

Just one???? That's tough, I'm coming up with Enemy Lover by Karin Harlow and Blood Born by Linda Howard, but I would have to say my favorite is Virtually Her's by Gennita Low. I randomly came across Virtually His and loved it and tracked down Virtually Her's. It was amazing. Granted my brain had to work harder than usual and there were a lot of thechnical terms and parts of virtual reality that was over my head. But, the story was amazing. Very fast paced, very sensual and Hot, amazing storyline. I was very upset when it ended and can't wait for the next one to come out and am hoping soon!!!!!! Gennita Low was a new author for me, but she is now at the top of my list

You have asked a tough question. I looked over my list of books that I have read this year. In my list, I have chosen the book that was my favorite per month. Looking at the favorites reminded me that my reading is eclectic. While I think a book is worthy of reading, may not be what another thinks.

For you, if you have not read The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood then I think you should. An incredible book with a whole lot of depth. It is also a pretty scary premise that I don't think is too far off from what reality could turn into.

Argh.... that is such a difficult question as I can name at least 5 I really loved!

Ok......
Dark Oracle by Alayna Williams!

Hello Erin,
Just 1? This is very hard to do but if I had to choose just one it would have to be "Cleopatra's Daughter" by Michelle Moran or maybe Ken Follett's " Pillars of the Earth" or maybe it might be "The Red Tent by Anita Diamant or it may be........
oh this is so hard!
Please enter me...in your great contest. Thanks

One book that really stays with me this year is Down Among the Dead Men by Robert Gregory Browne. It's a definite page turner with a twist you won't see coming!

Oh boys this is the hard question Erin. lol If i have to pick one i'm going to pick Take No Risks by Cindy Gerard. I won it on a blog and but it's like book 6 i think in a series so i had to hunt down the others first and read them to get caught up and i loved the series and it was the first books of Cindy Gerard for me as well.

It stands out in my mind because of all that. I've read so many awesome books this yr though.

Snort- all the books I have read this year were for school, except your, Whispers! I know it's shameless. Best book read for school project would be Dawkins-The God Delusion.

I'm assuming you don't want us to name one of your books. :D Besides yours, I really enjoyed reading Margaret Mallory's All the Kings Men Trilogy. Of the three, my favorite was Knight of Pleasure, which was book #2.

For a fun and funny fast-paced read, I would recommend "The Accidental Demon Slayer" by Angie Fox. :)
